How to Use Google Forms to Manage Jokes
Here at the Scene Shop we urge all writers to get into the habit of writing every day especially if you’re just starting out.
There are a lot of ways to keep track of funny ideas, from pencil and paper to Evernote to OneNote. There is no wrong way, but if you don’t like any of the existing software solutions here’s a free method using Google Forms.
Go to your Google Drive
Make yourself a new Google Form by mousing thus:
Now edit your blank form.
- Give it a title
- Change the input type to be Paragraph
- Click on Responses
On the Responses page, click the green icon with the cross. Create a new spreadsheet. Name it whatever you want.
The form will now populate the spreadsheet with the timestamp and the text of the joke you entered. You can also add other columns to the spreadsheet. For example, you could add columns for the dates when you tried this joke out and/or how it went.
You can even save a link to the google form as an icon on your phone, so if you have a joke idea on the go, you can add it to your spreadsheet.
